Ships unloader for the power plant Moorburg
Port of Loading:
Szczecin, Poland
Port of Destination:
Hamburg-Moorburg, Germany
Cargo:
2 ships unloader for coal each 850 t and 3 accessories each 35 t
Brief description:
The pre assembled ships unloaders stood at the pier in Szczecin and were delivered to the new Vattenfall Power Plant in Hamburg-Moorburg. Therefore a rail construction was created and mounted to a barge on which the ships unloaders were pulled with winches. With the help of two tugs and a total height of about 40 meters, the cargo was then transported upright across the Baltic Sea, through the Kiel Canal and over the Elbe to its destination. There it was pulled back on the pier. H&P Logistics successfully managed the whole transport organization including engineering, mounting and dismounting of the rail construction, the securing of the cargo and the sea fastening, the application for all necessary licenses and permissions, etc. The tide in Hamburg was a special challenge, since there was only a two hour time window with permanent changing water levels for discharging.
